Long before O’Hare became Chicago’s great international gateway, the Douglas DC-3 helped change the way people traveled to and from the city. In 1936, American Airlines introduced DC-3 service between Chicago and New York, connecting two major cities aboard an aircraft that would become an aviation legend. Our ORD DC-3 patch brings that earlier chapter of Chicago flying together with the airport known around the world today.
